Chile’s Hortifrut reported US$215 million in revenue for 2012. The year included a 17.5% increase in sales compared to the year prior.

The sales increase was accompanied by a 3% increase in volume, reaching 28,408 tons (MT) and increased revenue per kilo of mixed berries of 14.2%.

Blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and fresh strawberries represented 95% of consolidated revenue for the year.

EBITDA increased 9.4%, up to US$23.2 million. The value excludes profit from the sale of Pan American Berry Growers LLC., valued at US$1.46 million.

Operating income reached US$18.4 million, up 5.5%.

The company invested US$33 million over the year in fields, new plantations, infrastructure, the “Ready to Eat” campaign and genetic develop as part of a five-year investment plan.
