As California Giant continues to grow in fresh berry volume so does the sales team. The company recently hired Jonathan Sparks bringing strong sales experience to the existing team in preparation for the berry season ahead.

Sparks brings almost 20 years of produce industry experience into California Giant and will be managing existing trading partner accounts as well as developing new business relationships for the company.

Most recently Sparks was the berry category manager for Robinson Fresh; he has broad experience with the full line of berries he will be selling at California Giant.

Over the last several years California Giant has expanded acreage and growing regions for all berry types but has not expanded the sales team until now. “The timing is perfect to add to our team as we launch into the beginning of the spring and we are very pleased Jonathan wanted to come on board. He will definitely complement the existing group and provide the extra depth we really need,” Anthony Gallino, vice president of sales, said in a press release.

Sparks along with the recent addition of Tom Smith, foodservice director, will add strength to the team and provide opportunity for more analysis on current and potential business partnerships for the company. Sparks lives with his family in Salinas and began work on March 6 at the Watsonville headquarters.
