Blueberry producers in the Spanish region of Huelva have reportedly established a new committee to oversee proposed collaboration between themselves and their fellow blueberry growers in Chile.

As reported by Agrodiario Huelva, the aim of the new partnership is to foster closer ties between what are seen as complementary sources of supply and to encourage the sharing of commercial information to the benefit of both groups.

The group was created by regional industry body Freshuelva, whose president Alberto Garrocho and manager Rafael Domínguez will perform the same roles for the new entity.

Together they will work closely with Spain’s blueberry sector as well as the Chilean Blueberry Committee, and will also apply to become part of the International Blueberry Organization.
